How to cook chickpea curry for lunch
CHICKPEA CURRY
This chickpea curry is based on south indian recipes. It makes yummy taste curry for lunch.
Ingredients
Chickpeas-1cup
Onion-1
or shallots-6 to 10
Tomato-1
finely chopped
Tamarind
– gooseberry size
Sambar
powder-3tsp
Turmeric
powder-a pinch
salt - as required
water- needed
To temper
Oil-2tsp
Mustard
seeds-1 tsp
Cumin
seeds- 1tsp
Urad
dal-1tsp
To roast and grind
Oil-1tsp
Coconut
grant-3 tsp
Urad
dal-1tsp
Curry
leaves-3 sprig of leaf
Begal
gram dal-1tsp
Method
Step1
Soak
the chickpeas in water for about 8 hours .Then add water , salt and cook in a pressure cooker up to 4
or 6 whistle.
Step2
Heat
the oil in a pan. Then add curry leaves, urad dal, Bengal gram dal and coconut
grant and roast until smell is begin. Keep aside for cooling. Then grind this
items.
Step3
Take
kadai and pour and heat the oil. Then add tempering items and splutter that
items. Add chopped onion and tomato.
After cooked these items, add sambar powder and turmeric powder. Cook until raw
smell is gone. Then add tamarind juice and boil. Finally add ground paste , salt and
cooked chickpeas.
Wait
until it become thick paste and add somemore water if you want. Serve hot.
