How to cook south indian sambar kuzhampu step by step method

SAMBAR


Sambar curry is a favourite recipe for south indian's everyday cooking. They are usually prepared for lunch. No one recipe replace sambar curry. This post will be useful for Beginner in cooking.
Ingredients
Toovar dal – 50g
Asafoetida- a pinch
Turmeric powder- a pinch
Garlic-6 or7 piece

Drumsticks-1 (sliced into 2inch long pieces)
Shallots-  6 finely chopped
Tomato-  1 or 2 chopped
Brinjal – 1 chopped
Chilly- 2 chopped
Carrot-1

Tamarind -small Gooseberry size
Sambar  powder-2 tsp
Coriander leaves - 2 sprig of leaf
water - as needed

To temper
Oil- 2 tsp
Curry leaves- 2 sprig of leaf
Mustard seeds- 1 tsp

To grind
Coconut- 5 or 6 slice
Cumin seeds- 2tsp
Salt- as needed

Method
Step 1
First Take dal and wash and drain. Then  add water and cook with asafetida, garlic, turmeric powder  in pressure cooker for  5 whistle. Mash these well cooked dal . Keep aside.
Step2
Boil water in another vessel  and add  chopped  vegetables and cook well.
Then add sambar powder and pour tamarind paste water. Finally pour cooked dal into this cooked vegetables and add Coriander leaves and salt.
Step3
Add grinded coconut into sambar. Then  temper sambar . Serve hot.
